'The make-up lasts me the whole day!' 'I miss that make-up you done for me for my big day! ' Not only once have my bride been asking the same question; what's your secret to make my make-up last longer? MOISTURE! MOISTURE! MOISTURE! No matter what kind of makeup style you like - matte or dewy; what kind of skin type you have - combination, dry or oily. Hydration is the key to help the canvas, aka your skin stable! So the skincare is the most important step before you put on your make-up. I like to use a facial mask on my bride before I do the makeup, and the mask is the easy stuff everyone can get at any pharmacy, a bottle of lotion/toner and cotton pads! Why toner instead of a convenient peel-off mask? First, water molecule is smaller than gel or cream, it's easier for your skin to get hydrated. Second, the essence in a peel-off mask may cause residues when applying foundation if you don't have time to wait until it gets absorbed thoroughly. The last but not least, it's way cheaper than a peel-off mask but you would get similar outcome on your skin! So, how to do it? As simple as you can image! Just pour the toner on the pads to dampen them until they are see-through, peel them into pieces and put them on your face evenly, wait for 5-10 minutes, peel them off and apply some cream to keep the moisture stay.
Voilà, you're ready to apply make-up, and you won't believe how less times you have to touch up in a whole day!
